Sept 21 | Plot a Novel in an Hour with Author Jennifer Sneed
September 21st 1:45 pm - 3:00 pm
Using 7-Point Plot Structure, Oklahoma author Jennifer Sneed will lead you through the process of plotting a new novel – or shoring up the structure of your work in progress. Ideal for novice and experienced writers, this will be a collaborative and fun exercise in plotting a novel. You don’t need to have a pre-existing plot idea to participate, but it’s OK if you do. Writers of all genres of adult fiction, young adult, and middle-grade fiction are welcome. If you get stuck, you can call on others to help brainstorm ideas. You’ll learn a bit about story structure, but hopefully, your main takeaway will be a willingness to play with story.
Jennifer has taught this workshop many times, including at Plottr Software’s PlotCon24, where she received rave reviews.
Reviews:
"Thank you so much for sharing your energy and knowledge. You have inspired me to write again. #PlotCon24 "
"I have NEVER heard plot explained in this way. This makes the most sense to me, and I’m definitely going to try it out soon, probably while re-watching this webinar/workshop. Thanks so much for sharing."
Jennifer Sneed is a former elementary school teacher and legal assistant. Her articles and short stories have been published in Cricket and Ask magazines, and she’s won a few awards for her writing. She is the Regional Advisor of the SCBWI OK/AR region. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a history degree, somewhere along the way she fell in love with the city and decided to stay. A STORY UNWRITTEN, a middle grade fairy tale retelling, is her debut novel. GUINEVERE MACKENZIE IS NOT A NICE GIRL, a coming-of-age novel for adults, will be released June 2025.
